Job summary

Vibe Recruit is seeking a skilled Fabricator in South Wales for immediate placement in a role focused on fabricating high-integrity pressure equipment and heavy structures. The candidate will read fabrication drawings, prepare materials, and perform MIG/MMA tack welds, followed by final assembly to deliver quality products.

Experience in heavy industry, pipework or structural steelwork, and comfort with working at height or in confined spaces are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience with fabrication and welding in heavy industry is essential.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret specs.
• Familiarity with safety standards and working at height/ confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Accurately cutting, grinding, and laying out materials such as sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel, and angle.
• Performing basic quality MIG and MMA tack welds on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Final assembly to produce high-quality finished products.
• Marking out cylinders for nozzles, brackets, and attachments.
• Cutting holes in cylinders with torches and plasma equipment.
• Creating templates for shapes and profiles (e.g., tangential nozzle).
• Joining metal cylinders using temporary attachments, chain blocks and similar equipment.
• Cutting and shaping weld preparation bevels and nozzle weld preparations.
