Job summary

Vibe Recruit is seeking an experienced Plater/Fabricator for a specialised South Wales manufacturing company. The role involves cutting, laying out materials and assembling high-integrity pressure equipment used across nuclear, oil and gas, energy, and renewables sectors.

You will read fabrication drawings, operate equipment like horizontal saws and drills, and perform MIG/MMA welding on various metals. The position requires working at height and in confined spaces, with emphasis on safety and

Qualifications

• Experience using manufacturing equipment such as horizontal saws, pillar drills, rotators, manipulators and cranes.
• Comfortable working in heavy industry with pressure vessels.
• Able to read fabrication drawings and follow factory safety standards.
• Experience with pipework or structural steelwork advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Accurately cut, grind, and lay out materials including sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, and angle.
• Perform basic quality MIG and MMA tack welds on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Assemble finished products and mark out cylinders for nozzles and attachments.
• Cut holes in cylinders using torches or plasma.
• Create templates for shapes and profiles such as tangential nozzle in cylinder.
• Join metal cylinders using temporary attachments, blocks and hoists.
• Prepare weld bevels and nozzle weld preparations.
