Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd. currently seeks an experienced production supervisor to oversee the fabrication department in Birmingham. The role operates on a PM shift, Mon–Fri, with 2pm–10:30pm (Mon-Thu) and 12pm–6pm (Fri).

You will lead day-to-day workshop operations, manage welders and fabricators, ensure safety and engineering spec compliance, and monitor workloads, stock levels, and quality control.

Qualifications

• Must have previous production supervisory experience.
• An in date FLT licence advantageous.
• Work under the typical demand found in a manufacturing environment.
• Report to HR and your line manager any staff concerns and act to ensure the employee and the business are protected.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support workshop personnel, tracking productivity and allocating tasks.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all fabrication and welding meet engineering specifications, ISO standards, and Health & Safety regulations.
• Production Planning: Monitor daily accomplishment reports, coordinate delivery schedules, and optimize workshop efficiency.
• Technical Oversight: Interpret technical drawings, manage raw materials, and troubleshoot production or equipment problems.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced production supervisor to oversee the fabrication department on behalf of our client based in Birmingham.

This role will be working on a PM shift - Monday to Friday
2pm - 10.30pm Monday - Thursday
12pm - 6pm Friday

You will be required to lead day-to-day workshop operations, manage a team of welders and fabricators, and ensures all work is completed safely and to exact engineering specifications. Key duties include reading technical CAD drawings, allocating workloads, maintaining quality control, and overseeing material stock levels

This role will be a permanent position with salary up to £32,000 - £38,000pa for the right candidate
