Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Oldbury is seeking a Fabrication Team Supervisor / Leader / Workshop Production Manager to lead day-to-day shopfloor fabrication operations and drive daily workflow. You will allocate work, read complex drawings, and ensure quality across MIG/TIG fabrication while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Time-served trade background in welding and fabrication (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Ability to read and work directly from technical engineering drawings.
• Previous supervisory experience or clear track record as a senior fabricator moving into team management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day shopfloor operations, allocating work to fabricators and monitoring progress.
• Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure correct specifications are met.
• Maintain quality control across MIG, TIG, and structural fabrication work.
• Identify shopfloor bottlenecks and adjust production schedules to hit delivery targets.
• Enforce health and safety standards, risk assessments, and correct equipment usage.
• Act as the link between workshop floor, office management, and senior leadership.
• For senior level candidates: handle material scheduling, capacity planning, and job costing.

Salary: £38,000 - £60,000+ per annum (Negotiable depending on experience)

Position: Permanent, Full-Time

We are recruiting for a newly created leadership position within an established engineering and fabrication business in Oldbury. Due to ongoing operational expansion, our client requires a dedicated individual to take responsibility for shopfloor fabrication operations and daily workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day shopfloor operations, allocating work to fabricators and monitoring job progress.
• Read and interpret complex technical engineering drawings to ensure correct specifications are met.
• Maintain quality control across all MIG, TIG, and structural fabrication work.
• Identify shopfloor bottlenecks and adjust production schedules to hit delivery targets.
