Role Definition

Aventa is seeking, on behalf of our client—a leading developer in the offshore renewable energy sector—a Fabrication HSE Advisor to join their QHSE Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a team of skilled engineers on the Hornsea 3 Windfarm Project, contributing to one of the most significant offshore wind developments in the region.

The HSE Advisor’s role is to collaborate and support the Package Management and the Ørsted Fabrication Team on site in transferring and implementing the outlined HSE Strategy and objectives on the supplier’s site. They will implement the structure around planned HSE activities within the project, including management of these.

Success criteria:

  • TRIR, NCR reductions amongst Fabrication suppliers
  • Ensure implementation and follow-up on Supplier Improvements and Assurance

Activity Plan

  • Delivering milestones on time
  • Supplier performance according to Ørsted objectives

Responsibilities:

In accordance with the process “Execute QHSE Assurance Plan – Fabrication”, contribute to:

  • Fabrication Supplier’s compliance with Employer’s (Ørsted) HSE Requirements according to contract
  • Based on risk approach, plan and conduct supplier and process assessments according to relevant activity program
  • HSE support to Ørsted Package and Fabrication Team
  • Implement and/or follow up on Supplier HSE Improvements (where handed over) and Assurance / Activity Plan according to Project Baseline Agreement
  • Contribute to HSE supplier performance reporting
  • Communicate and coordinate operational HSE initiatives and interfaces across the organization
  • Role model a safety culture that promotes continuous improvements

Tasks:

  • Review Supplier HSE documentation prior to start of work and during execution, including HSE management system procedures, HSE Plan, method statements, risk assessments
  • Guide and support on HSE strategy, priorities, HSE Improvement Plan, and other HSE-related matters to the Ørsted Package and Fabrication Team
  • Based on the Project Baseline Agreement, execute and follow up on the Supplier HSE Activity Plan
  • Execute supplier assessments according to the relevant activity programme and ad-hoc needs from Packages
  • Conduct HSE inspections of supplier fabrication sites to evaluate compliance with Employer’s (Ørsted) HSE Requirements
  • Maintain Synergi-structure to hold all relevant HSE data
  • Assist Fabrication Management with Synergi HSE reporting according to Ørsted guidelines and related follow-up (root causes, actions)
  • Participate in supplier audits and other relevant activities such as inspections, readiness checks, FAIs
  • Initiate Communication Notes in case of breach of contract/regulations
  • Participate in and follow up on incident investigations
  • Participate in Ørsted Supplier meetings (QHSE meetings, HIRA, FAI, TOC, ROC drills, etc.) where relevant
  • Support Ørsted Supplier HSE initiatives and campaigns
  • Produce internal Ørsted yard-specific HSE guidelines and safety inductions
  • Verify Supplier Monthly reporting and follow-up on concerns
  • Produce bi-weekly HSE updates for project stakeholders

  • Synergi structure on HSE and case entry
  • Continuous monitoring and update of QHSE assurance plan
  • Escalation where needed

  • Reporting of supplier performance

Requirements:

Qualification / Requirements

  • Completed IOSH course or NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction to certificate level or similar.
  • Preferably completed NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction to Diploma Level or similar.
  • Recommended five years of relevant experience within mature industrial manufacturing, ideally within fabrication.
  • Recommended ten years of experience within QHSE Management.
  • Experience within Incident investigations and Root Cause Identification.
  • Knowledge of local Health and Safety Regulations required.
  • Valid training required in: Work at Height (e.g., GWO) and First Aid.
  • Valid medical certificate (to fulfill Fabrication Supplier requirements).
  • Ability to write and speak English fluently.
  • Personal skills: Good communicator, motivator with a human touch.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
