Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is recruiting a Static Fabric Technician for a large Commercial site near Reading. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on building fabric, perform carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and minor decorating tasks, and ensure doors, windows and fixtures are safe and presentable.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday 8:00–17:00, with no on-call obligations. The package includes training, a salary up to £33,000, 25 days plus bank holidays, overtime

Qualifications

• Experience working in commercial environments.
• Qualification in a trade (desired).
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of building fabric across the campus.
• Undertake general repairs such as carpentry, basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, painting, and minor decorating works.
• Inspect and maintain doors, windows, locks, floors, ceilings, and fixtures to ensure buildings remain safe, secure, and presentable.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and fault reports, prioritising works to minimise disruption.
• Support compliance with health and safety regulations, including safe systems of work and risk assessments.
• Liaise with facilities teams, contractors, and campus staff to coordinate repairs and improvement works.
• Carry out routine inspections and identify potential issues before they develop into major faults.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed using maintenance management systems.
