Job summary

Randstad CPE in Derby is seeking a Static Fabric Technician to own the site’s fabric maintenance, covering planned and reactive work. You will operate Monday–Friday, 40 hours, with police vetting required and a 34,000 per annum salary plus call-out allowance.

The role demands a trade background in Joinery or equivalent, reading contract drawings, and readiness to supervise subcontractors while ensuring health and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Trade background: Joinery qualification or equivalent time-served experience.
• Ability to read contract drawings/specifications; basic plumbing or electrical experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Fabric maintenance: ceiling repairs, painting, skirting replacement, door servicing, and FF&E refurbishment.
• Fault finding: identify and diagnose building fabric, cladding, and structural issues.
• Specialist checks: fire door inspections and water hygiene testing (training provided).
• Subcontractor supervision: oversee external contractors to ensure safe execution of works.
• Site operations: monitor stock, read utility meters, and assist with porterage, safety, and security checks.
