Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking an Assistant Technical Services Manager (Fabric) to join our team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick. This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary and benefits package.

The role supports the Technical Services Manager, coordinating maintenance, managing directly employed labour and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with NHS and company guidelines. A DBS check will be required and driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
• High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate.
• Sound knowledge of standard spreadsheet packages and computerised estates and project management systems.
• Must be able to manage people, be self-motivating, work on own initiative, and liaise effectively with staff in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Demonstrates understanding of technical and estates/building issues in the provision of construction, maintenance and FM services.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Services Manager (TSM) in ensuring Building Tasks are closed out in a timely manner, assisting with other trades as needed.
• Assist in management and co-ordination of directly employed labour and sub-contractors for breakdowns and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with statutory, NHS, Trust and Company guidelines.
• Plan and schedule all PPM activities for the building team using the Maximo system.
• Assist in reviewing and developing service quality and control expenditure as directed by the TSM.
• Participate in the on-call rota and Winter Maintenance on-call when required.
