Job summary

DFS Furniture PLC is seeking a Fabric Store Person to receive, inspect, store and issue fabrics for upholstery production at our Doncaster site. You will maintain stock accuracy and support production schedules while working closely with Manufacturing and Warehouse teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in a store/warehouse/manufacturing environment.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively.
• IT skills and experience with stock management systems.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
• Forklift licence desirable where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, inspecting, and booking in fabric deliveries, reporting shortages or quality issues.
• Storing fabrics and materials safely and per company procedures.
• Picking, preparing, and issuing fabrics to Cutting and Production departments.
• Maintaining accurate stock records and supporting stock counts.
• Ensuring fabrics are identified, labelled and stored to prevent damage.
• Rotating stock and monitoring inventory levels, flagging shortages.
• Safely operating material handling equipment where authorised.
• Maintaining clean, organised and safe fabric store areas.
• Collaborating with Manufacturing, Warehouse and Planning teams to ensure materials are available.
• Following Health & Safety policies and manual handling procedures.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in stock control and material flow.
• Assisting with other warehouse or store duties as required.
