Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services is seeking a proactive general maintenance assistant to support client buildings with routine maintenance and repair tasks across sectors. You will help with plant room upkeep, basic servicing, and ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include tidying plant rooms, cleaning and painting equipment, meter readings, reporting on works, and coordinating with Contracts Managers.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Previous maintenance experience.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Basic PC skills – Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and painting of equipment, plant and plant room floors
  • Chemical cleaning of equipment using high-pressure jet washer
  • Delivery of spares to site
  • Basic Building Maintenance tasks including meter readings and tap temperature checks
  • To regularly and effectively communicate with clients, suppliers and other personnel in order to maintain and develop excellent professional working relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business
  • The job holder will be expected to organise their work and time efficiently, and to be work supportively within a team
  • Submitting clear, concise and accurate reports of works carried out, with clear recommendations for any further work required
  • Submitting weekly accurate timesheets
  • Communicating with Contracts Managers on Job progression
