J&C Joel Ltd in Sowerby Bridge is offering an ambitious Cutting & Inspection Apprentice role within our Manufacturing department. You will learn fabric inspection, cutting, and quality processes while completing a 12-month Level 2 apprenticeship through the Textile Centre of Excellence Academy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection of fabric and materials for defects and colour checking.
• Transport fabric rolls of fabric.
• Operate machinery for fabric defect identification.
• Inspect and cut fabric as per production schedule.
• Flag any major defects to the relevant personnel.
• Cut fabric to specification, utilising relevant machines and tables.
• Undertake regular machine maintenance.
• Pick and pack Drape Kit Packs ensuring full allocation.
• Issue product to Kit of the works orders.
• Follow and conduct audit trials.
• Ensure your workspace is kept clean, tidy, and organised with a methodical approach to your work.
• Maintain a basic level of Health & Safety in all work practices and ensure, where necessary, any supplied PPE is utilised.
• Ensure compliance to all policies, practices and procedures at all times.
• Any other ad-hoc duties considered reasonable, as requested by the Manufacturing Production Manager.
