Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in the UK is seeking an experienced textile inspector / Quality Controller to join our Cross Hills site, near Keighley, West Yorkshire. You will lead a small team and assist in inspecting produced fabric to the highest quality standards while helping achieve daily targets.

Working in a weaving environment, you will inspect looms state and finished fabric, perform mandatory quality checks, map faults, and ensure fabric is well presented before dispatch.

Qualifications

• Experience as textile inspector or quality controller.
• Ability to follow instructions with precision and accuracy.
• Excel and Word skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work in a safe manner and undertake relevant training on manual handling and risk assessments.
• Inspect all off loom and finished fabric to the required standards.
• Perform mandatory quality checks on fabric during inspection.
• Conduct shade checks against fabric standards.
• Map faults accurately using QT terminals or manual fault maps.
• Allocate fabric to appropriate stillages and load frames on receipt of fabric from finisher.
• Identify faults with care following the standard specification.

Job description

Quality Controler. We are looking for experienced textile inspector / Quality Controller based at our site in Cross Hills, Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Working as part of a team you will lead the team and assist in the Inspection of the produced fabric. You will work to the highest quality whilst achieving daily targets and ensure continuous production including leading a team of highly skilled inspectors inspecting both looms state and finished fabric.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To work in a safe manner, undertake courses on manual handling, safe systems at work and understand the risk assessments of working in a textile production environment.
• Responsibility for inspecting all off loom & finished fabric.
• Mandatory Quality checks on all fabric through inspection.
• Mandatory shade check against fabric standard.
• Patrolling and mending using the accumulator on loom inspection system in the weaving shed.
• Accurate fault mapping using either QT terminals or Manual fault maps.
• Allocate fabric to appropriate stillages.
• Load ‘A’ frames on receipt of fabric form finisher.
• Identify all faults using tailors chalk – with care following agreed standard specification.
• Transfer pieces on the system to the relevant location adding the agreed strings and allowances.
• Ensure fabric is well presented before delivery into vendor.
• Housekeeping of all areas.
• Ensure high standards of excellence.

REQUIREMENT

• Ideally from a textile background and with high quality standards you will have the ability to follow instructions. Work with precision and accuracy and have excellent attention to detail. Excel and Microsoft word skills would be an advantage.
