Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Process Quality Engineer to ensure defect-free manufacturing of Cadillac F1 Power Unit systems. The ideal candidate will drive quality ownership and collaborate cross-functionally to align engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

This hands-on role involves developing processes, supporting builds, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Benefits include a bonus scheme, private healthcare, and on-site dining.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.
• Experience in process or manufacturing quality.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, APQP/PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
• Experience supporting machining and/or additive manufacturing processes.
• Proven experience in root cause analysis and CAPA systems.
• Ability to work hands-on in manufacturing and assembly environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain process controls, inspection criteria, and quality standards.
• Develop and perform reaction plans for critical features utilizing SPC when applicable.
• Support builds through torque verification, leak testing, functional checks.
• Lead APQP deliverables (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows) and ensure readiness.
• Review and approve FAI/FAIR and CTQ documentation.
• Drive resolution of nonconformances using structured root cause analysis.
• Own and manage MRB, NCR/CAPA processes, ensuring effective closure.
• Work with metrology in validation activities including CMM and 3D scanning.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams.
