About

Mercedes AMG HPP – Formula 1 - IT Support Engineer Trackside Northampton - Ongoing contract

This long-term contract role offers an excellent opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to showcase their skills within Mercedes AMG HPP, a leading motorsport business based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will be a key team member supporting factory-based F1 track operations, including some weekend and late/night shifts during race weekends.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to ensure reliability and availability of IT applications and infrastructure.
  2. Support enterprise applications, middleware, and infrastructure technologies.
  3. Manage database support, administration, and optimization (SQL).
  4. Monitor capacity, performance, and availability (using SCOM).
  5. Implement security measures to prevent vulnerabilities, malware, and threats.
  6. Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and support in-house applications.
  7. Adapt quickly to changing environments and learn new technologies.
  8. Maintain strong networking knowledge (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
  9. Support operational and project tasks, meeting SLAs and deadlines.
  10. Collaborate with team members and share knowledge effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in enterprise application, middleware, and infrastructure technologies (e.g., VMware, DHCP, DNS, AD, GPO, M365, Entra AD, MDM).
  • Proficiency in SQL database support and optimization.
  • Knowledge of capacity, performance, and availability monitoring tools.
  • Strong networking skills (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and self-management abilities.
  • Ability to work both operationally and on projects under tight deadlines.
