Job description

For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team, our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.

Job Description

Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) is a dynamic hub of innovation, consistently pushing the boundaries across land, sea, and air by drawing on Formula One expertise and precision. Our project portfolio is unparalleled. Beyond the groundbreaking RB17 Hypercar and the Red Bull-commissioned submarine, we are involved in various other cutting-edge projects.

Red Bull Advanced Technologies are constantly elevating performance to new heights, and the recently announced RB17 two-seat Hypercar is set to be the ultimate on-track driving experience, pushing design and technical boundaries far beyond what has previously been imagined.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Electronics Support Technician to join our Red Bull Advanced Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities of the Electronics Support Technician:

  • Understand and deliver build specifications for electrical systems, harnesses, and components.
  • Assist in generating and managing test plans for rig and product tests.
  • Build and maintain electrical test instrumentation for system functionality and data gathering.
  • Support rig and product tests, including system commissioning, software setup, and fault resolution.
  • Assist design engineering with engineering samples, build sequence reviews, and design reviews.
  • Ensure electrical systems meet event build specifications before rig or external tests.
  • Provide electrical/electronic event support, coordinating spares and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory for rig tests and operational events.
  • Operate specialist equipment as per procedures.
  • Continuously review system performance and analyse data for anomalies.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical system faults promptly using root cause analysis.
  • Provide engineering feedback for fault investigation and process improvement.
  • Assist in creating and managing component fault reports, ensuring system traceability and integrity.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical proficiency with high-end motorsport electrical systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with the flexibility to support various functions such as factory builds and event support. Additionally, strong organisational skills are crucial for managing spares and maintaining a safe working environment.

At Red Bull Advanced Technologies we offer more than just a job. Beyond competitive salaries, our comprehensive benefits package includes private health care, life assurance, and a company-contributed pension scheme. You’ll also enjoy perks like an on-site gym, fitness classes, daily food allowance, free barista style hot drinks, and of course, lots of Red Bull to keep you firing on all cylinders!
