Job summary

McLaren Automotive Limited is seeking a Composite Assembly Technician to join our composites facility, building and assembling Formula One car sub-assemblies, main components and related support equipment. You will trim and assemble carbon fibre parts in line with engineering drawings and instruction sheets, ensuring quality standards are met.

You will inspect components, prepare parts for NDT where required, and contribute to continuous improvement while following health and safety

Qualifications

• Experience of trimming and assembling carbon fibre components.
• The ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings and instruction sheets.
• A practical engineering background with strong hands-on assembly skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver quality work under tight timescales.
• Basic PC literacy and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble Formula One car sub-assemblies, main car components and associated support equipment.
• Trim and assemble carbon fibre components in line with engineering drawings and specific instruction sheets.
• Inspect completed components to ensure they meet the required quality and engineering standards.
• Complete the initial assembly of new car parts, service items returning from races and tests, and prepare components for NDT inspection.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities while following company health and safety requirements.
