Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Composite Assembly Technician to join our composites facility, building Formula One car sub-assemblies and components with precision. You will follow engineering drawings and instruction sheets to trim and assemble carbon fibre parts, inspect final components, and prepare parts for NDT where required.

You will contribute to continuous improvement while upholding health and safety standards, working across teams to deliver high-quality parts on tight race schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience trimming and assembling carbon fibre components.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and instruction sheets.
• Practical engineering background with strong hands-on assembly skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to deliver quality work under tight timescales.
• Basic PC literacy and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble Formula One car sub-assemblies, main car components and associated support equipment.
• Trim and assemble carbon fibre components in line with engineering drawings and specific instruction sheets.
• Inspect completed components to ensure they meet the required quality and engineering standards.
• Complete the initial assembly of new car parts, service items returning from races and tests, and prepare components for NDT inspection.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities while following company health and safety requirements.
