Job summary

McLaren Racing in the United Kingdom is seeking a Composite Assembly Technician to join our composites facility and help build and assemble Formula One car sub-assemblies and components.

You will trim and assemble carbon fibre parts, read engineering drawings, inspect components for quality, and prepare items for NDT inspection, all while contributing to continuous improvement and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience trimming and assembling carbon fibre components.
• Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings and instruction sheets.
• Practical engineering background with strong hands-on assembly skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver quality work under tight timescales.
• Clear communication and basic PC literacy.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble Formula One car sub-assemblies, main car components and associated support equipment.
• Trim and assemble carbon fibre components in line with engineering drawings and specific instruction sheets.
• Inspect completed components to ensure they meet the required quality and engineering standards.
• Complete the initial assembly of new car parts, service items returning from races and tests, and prepare components for NDT inspection.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities while following company health and safety requirements.
