St Martins Lane Hotel in London is looking for a charismatic Food & Beverage Server to join our 5-star team. You will be the face of our restaurants, bars and lounges, delivering a seamless, elegant dining experience and ensuring every guest feels special.

You should bring luxury hospitality experience, impeccable command of English, wine and silver service knowledge, and the ability to upsell thoughtfully.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a luxury London hotel, Michelin-starred/AAA rosette environment, or high-end private members' club.
• Impeccable command of English, with ability to engage diverse international guests.
• Mastery of silver service and wine service protocols; strong knowledge of culinary trends.

Responsibilities

• Execute a seamless 5* service cycle from greeting to farewell, ensuring personalised, unhurried moments.
• Maintain exhaustive knowledge of menus, ingredients and wine pairings; communicate confidently to guests.
• Own your station’s mise-en-scène, ensuring setting, glassware and ambience meet luxury standards.
• Utilise upselling techniques to suggest premium pairings and enhance the guest experience.
• Coordinate with Management, Host and Kitchen teams to ensure smooth service during peak times.
• Accurately manage the Micros POS system and handle billing with discretion.

Your Role

As an F&B Server, you’ll be the face of our restaurants, bars, and lounges—delivering unforgettable experiences with every plate and pour. Whether it’s breakfast with a view or cocktails under the stars, you’ll make every guest feel like the only one in the room.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Guest Journey: Execute a seamless 5* service cycle, from the initial greeting and aperitif recommendations to the final farewell, ensuring every interaction feels personalised and unhurried.
• Menu Expertise & Articulation: Maintain an exhaustive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, sourcing, preparation methods, and wine pairings. Confidently communicate this to guests, including those with complex dietary requirements.
• Station Ownership: Take full responsibility for the "mis-en-scène" of your assigned section, ensuring table settings, glassware, and ambient details meet the hotel’s exacting aesthetic standards throughout the shift.
• Revenue Optimisation: Utilise sophisticated upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience, naturally suggesting premium pairings, digestifs, or side dishes that align with the guest’s palate.
• Operational Synergy: Liaise effectively with the Management, Host, and Kitchen teams to ensure a synchronised flow of service, particularly during high-pressure "theatre" or peak dining periods.
• Administrative Diligence: Accurately manage the POS (Point of Sale) system i.e. Micros, ensuring all orders are processed correctly and billing is handled with the utmost discretion and precision.

What You’ll Bring

• 5 Pedigree:* Proven experience within a luxury London hotel, Michelin-starred/ AAA rosette environment, or a high-end private members' club.
• The "London Standard": Impeccable command of the English language. You must be able to engage in sophisticated conversation with a diverse, international clientele.
• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of silver service, wine service protocols, and a deep understanding of British and international culinary trends.
• Intuitive Service: A natural ability to read the table, knowing when to engage and when to remain discreet is essential for this level of hospitality.
• Commitment to the Craft: A desire for a 40-hour career-focused contract. We are looking for individuals who view hospitality as a profession, not a "stop-gap" role.
• Physical Stamina & Grace: The ability to remain on your feet for extended periods while maintaining a polished, elegant posture and a calm demeanour under pressure.
