Job summary

Mercure Newcastle, George Washington Hotel, Golf & Spa is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor who is passionate about hospitality and leading teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will set the standard for F&B and inspire the team to consistently achieve it, from breakfast service to weddings and events, while coaching and developing staff to maintain high service levels.

You will own the team’s performance, drive revenue through upselling, and handle responsibilities as Duty

Qualifications

• Previous Food & Beverage experience at Supervisor, Team Leader or equivalent level.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Experience coaching, training and developing team members, with accountability.
• Strong understanding of Food & Beverage operations across restaurants, bars, banqueting, conferences, weddings and events.
• Commercial awareness to drive revenue through upselling and engaging with guests.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships.
• Ability to remain calm, organized and decisive under pressure.
• Willingness to lead from the front and work across hotel areas.
• Care for people, standards and pride in getting things right.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, coach and hold the Food & Beverage team accountable for performance and standards.
• Own continuous team training to ensure knowledge and confidence in service.
• Lead by example and be involved wherever the operation needs you.
• Drive Food & Beverage revenue by identifying and maximizing sales opportunities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service across restaurant, bar, breakfast, banqueting, conferences and events.
• Ensure Food & Beverage areas meet brand and hotel standards.
• Collaborate with Kitchen to ensure food quality and presentation.
• Communicate effectively with wider hotel team for a seamless guest journey.
• Oversee hotel operations as Duty Manager, including Reception and Spa.
