Job summary

Mercure Newcastle, George Washington Hotel, Golf & Spa is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor who is passionate about hospitality and guest experiences. This hands-on leadership role sets the standard for our F&B operation, inspiring the team to deliver exceptional service across breakfast, restaurant, bar, and events, while driving revenue and maintaining brand standards.

You will coach and develop the team, own training, and take responsibilities as Duty Manager for the wider hotel operation,

Qualifications

• Hospitality leadership experience at Supervisor level or equivalent.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Coaching and developing team members with accountability.
• Strong understanding of Food & Beverage across restaurants, bars, banqueting, conferences and events.
• Commercial awareness to drive revenue through upselling and engaging with guests.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, coach and hold the Food & Beverage team to high standards.
• Own continuous team training ensuring confident, knowledgeable colleagues.
• Lead from the front and assist operation as needed.
• Drive F&B revenue through upselling and promotions.
• Deliver service across restaurant, bar, breakfast, banqueting, conferences, weddings and events.
• Ensure F&B areas meet Mercure and hotel brand standards.
• Coordinate with Kitchen for quality and presentation.
• Communicate with hotel team for a seamless guest journey.
• Handle guest feedback, requests and complaints professionally.
• Take responsibility as Duty Manager for wider hotel operation.
