Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced Early Years Practitioner for a school in Walsall. You will join a two‑person team caring for seven 2‑year‑olds, supporting their learning through the Primary curriculum.

The role runs 8:30–12:30, five days a week, and involves personal care. You should have Level 2 in Early Years and relevant nursery experience, with DBS/update service eligibility preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Early years qualification.
• Experience in nursery or early years settings.
• Clear Enhanced DBS or be eligible for update service.
• Right to work in the UK and provide two references.
• Strong EYFS knowledge and understanding of the Primary curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Support 7 children aged 2 within the 2-year-old provision.
• Provide personal care, including nappies, as required.
• Collaborate with another practitioner to deliver EYFS activities.
• Uphold safeguarding and welfare standards.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Early Years Practitioner!

A school based in Walsall is looking for a qualified Early Years practitioner to work within their 2‑year old provision. You will be working alongside another practitioner, supporting 7 children who are 2 years old.

This role is 5 days per week, working from 8:30 to 12:30.

This role will involve personal care (nappy changing). The school requires an individual who has previous early years experience, such as nursery work.

As this is an early years role, you must have Level 2 Early years qualification as a minimum. Unfortunately, a Teaching Assistant qualification will not count towards ratios.

Required skills and experience

• Level 3+ Teaching Assistant Qualification (NVQ/CACHE preferable)
• An enthusiastic, well‑motivated and talented classroom practitioner
• Excellent working knowledge of the Primary curriculum
• Recent primary school experience within the last 3 years
• Right to work in the UK
• Clear Enhanced Child Workforce on the Update Service (if you do not have this, we will require you to apply for a new DBS)
• Able to provide at least 2 references covering a minimum of 2 years
• Strong EYFS knowledge
