Job summary

Academics in Redbridge, London are seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support Nursery and Reception pupils within EYFS. The role is full-time, term-time only, starting September or October 2026, with hours 8:30am to 3:45pm and a focus on phonics, reading and writing activities.

The ideal candidate will hold Level 2/3 CACHE in Childcare or a Level 6/degree in education, have EYFS understanding, school-based experience, and a collaborative, enthusiastic approach.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 or 3 CACHE Qualification in Childcare/ Supporting Teaching & Learning.
• Or hold a Level 6 or degree within childcare or education.
• Have an understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Have school based experience ideally or experience in private nurseries.

Responsibilities

• Monday to Friday (Term Time Only).
• Hours: 8:30am to 3:45pm.
• Work across Nursery & Reception - school setting.
• Carrying out Phonics, Spelling, Reading & Writing activities.
• Creating a safe, engaging environment.
• Assisting with general classroom duties.
• Supporting mild SEN when needed.
• Providing 1:1 and group booster sessions.
• Opportunities for teacher training starting Sep 2026.
