Job summary

Westwood Primary School in Lowestoft is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support early years learning and development. The role focuses on warmth, patience and professionalism while helping children build essential academic, social and emotional skills in a nurturing environment.

Working hours are 08:30–15:15, Monday to Friday, across 38 weeks per year, with a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The post is based at Westwood Primary School, Lowestoft, with supervision by the EYFS Lead.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting EYFS learning and activities.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the EYFS, working with individuals and small groups to help children make progress.
• Deliver and adapt planned learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
• Promote inclusion and provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning, communication, behavioural or physical needs.
• Support children’s wellbeing, independence, personal care and positive behaviour as required.
• Monitor progress, provide feedback to teachers, and build positive relationships with families, colleagues and external professionals.
