Job summary

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded primary school in the Runcorn area from November 2026. The role is suitable for an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant or someone with childcare experience looking to transition into a school setting.

Qualifications

Experience in EYFS, nursery, preschool or primary settings.
Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification desirable.
Knowledge of EYFS curriculum advantageous.

Responsibilities

Supporting children's learning through play-based activities and structured lessons.
Working with small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra guidance.
Assisting with phonics sessions and early reading development.
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social development.
Supporting children's personal, social and emotional wellbeing.
Helping to create an engaging and welcoming classroom environment.
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
