Job summary

TEACH PLUS UK LIMITED is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets. You will support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping them develop communication, social skills, confidence and independence through structured and play-based learning.

The role involves working closely with the class teacher and EYFS team to create a safe, stimulating environment where children learn through exploration and practical activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in EYFS or nursery settings preferred.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification advantageous.
• Understanding of early childhood development.
• Experience supporting communication and language development.
• Warm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Genuine passion for early years education.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support children throughout the EYFS classroom.
• Assist with play-based and structured learning activities.
• Support children's communication and language development.
• Encourage social skills, independence and positive behaviour.
• Help create an engaging and stimulating learning environment.
• Work with individuals and small groups where appropriate.
• Support observations and contribute to assessing children's development.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team.
• Follow safeguarding and school procedures.
