Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting qualified Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Middlesbrough. Immediate start and September opportunities, with full-time or part-time hours.

You will work with EYFS pupils, deliver engaging activities, provide one-to-one and small group support, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment. DBS and two references required.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Minimum of 6 months UK classroom or nursery experience.
• Experience supporting children with a range of learning needs, including SEND (desirable).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Support children within the EYFS.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support.
• Encourage children's social, emotional, and educational development.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support children with SEND where required.
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily classroom activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
