Job summary

Christ Church Primary School in Burton upon Trent is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support EYFS learners. This fixed-term role runs for one year, ASAP start, with 19.5 hours per week (Wednesday to Friday, 6.5 hours per day). The post is graded at 4 (£26,847 - £27,274) pro rata for term-time only.

The successful candidate will assist with classroom learning, pupil progress recording, and pastoral support, contributing to an inclusive, caring school environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning.
• Experience with additional needs is desirable.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to adapt support to diverse pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Support learning in the classroom under the guidance of teachers.
• Deliver structured support for pupils, including reading sessions and IEP/Behaviour plans.
• Assist with planning, assessment and accurate recording of pupil progress.
• Provide pastoral support; assist with pupils’ personal needs, first aid and wellbeing.
• accompany pupils on visits and assist with breaks and lunch-time supervision.
• Use ICT to support learning and develop pupils’ confidence with technology.
• Encourage resilience, independence, and high standards of behaviour.

Education
