Job summary

Engage Education, in partnership with a Good Ofsted-rated primary school in Ashton-under-Lyne, is seeking an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to support reception children as they begin their educational journey.

This full-time, long-term role offers a nurturing environment, opportunities for play-based learning, and a chance to contribute to children’s early literacy and social development, with dedicated CPD and DBS support provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as an EYFS Teaching Assistant or keen to develop in Early Years.
• Warm, patient and enthusiastic with a nurturing approach.
• Confident building positive relationships with young children and families.
• Creative, proactive and willing to engage in all aspects of classroom life.
• Committed to giving children the best start to their education.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the Reception classroom
• Work with individuals and small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Support children through play-based learning and continuous provision
• Help create a stimulating and engaging learning environment both indoors and outdoors
• Encourage children’s social, emotional and personal development through positive interactions
• Assist with observations and contribute to monitoring children’s progress
• Work closely with the class teacher to ensure every child receives the support they need to flourish
