Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support children in a nursery within a primary school in the Atherton area, Wigan. This full-time role starts in September 2026 and requires a hands-on, engaging approach to early development.

You will assist with play-based learning, support speech, language and social development, observe pupil progress, and help create a safe, stimulating learning environment.

A nursery setting within a primary school in Atherton is looking to recruit an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support children within their early years provision.

This role is full-time and requires someone with a strong understanding of early development and a hands‑on, engaging approach.

The Role

• Supporting children within a nursery setting
• Assisting with play‑based learning activities
• Supporting speech, language and social development
• Observing and recording pupil progress
• Creating a safe and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in EYFS (or equivalent)
• Experience working within a nursery or reception setting
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
• Patient, enthusiastic and nurturing approach
• Able to work as part of a team
