Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. You will support young learners in developing confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning in a nurturing environment.

You will work alongside Early Years teachers, aiding learning, development, and wellbeing, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. Commitment to safeguarding and collaborative teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an EYFS or early years setting.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is desirable.
  • Good understanding of child development and the EYFS Framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities aligned with EYFS.
  • Build positive relationships with children to encourage independence and social development.
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and organising learning resources and activities.
  • Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress and contribute to assessment.
  • Support children with personal care, including toileting, hygiene, and dressing where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour with encouragement, praise, and consistent expectations.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment indoors and outdoors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support individual needs.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

Join Our Early Years Team

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping our youngest learners develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Working alongside our Early Years teachers, you will support children's learning, development, and wellbeing, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
  • Build positive relationships with children, encouraging independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and organising learning resources and activities.
  • Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress, contributing to assessment where appropriate.
  • Support children with personal care, including toileting, hygiene, and dressing, where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour through encouragement, praise, and consistent expectations.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support children’s individual needs.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
  • Has experience working with children in an EYFS or early years setting.
  • Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (desirable).
  • Has a good understanding of child development and the EYFS Framework.
  • Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team while using their own initiative.
  • Is committed to supporting every child to achieve their full potential.
