Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Preston is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. You’ll support children through play-based learning, phonics and early literacy, helping them feel safe, engaged and excited about their first steps in education.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:30pm, with pay at £13.75 per hour. A calm, patient team player with EYFS interest is ideal; experience with children in education or care is a plus.

What You’ll Be Doing:

This is a lovely opportunity to be part of the school's Early Years team - supporting learners as they take their first steps in education. You'll be:

• Supporting children through play-based learning and structured activities
• Helping to create a safe, fun and engaging environment where children feel happy and supported
• Assisting with phonics, early literacy and number work
• Encouraging social and emotional development through positive interactions
• Working closely with the teacher and wider team to help every child flourish

What We’re Looking For:

• Someone with experience working with or supporting children (this could be in a school, nursery, childcare or similar)
• A calm, kind and patient approach
• A team player who's not afraid to get stuck in
• EYFS experience is a big plus - but not essential if you've got the right attitude and passion!
