Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in Sheffield (S12). This is a flexible, term-time role starting in September 2026, with the potential to continue on a longer-term basis.

EYFS Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September 2026

Contract:Flexible, term-time only

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in Sheffield (S12). This is a flexible, term-time role starting in September 2026, with the potential to continue on a longer-term basis.

The role will involve:

• Supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) classroom.
• Assisting with play-based learning activities and continuous provision.
• Supporting children's communication, language and social development.
• Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
• Helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment.
• Supporting the class teacher with classroom organisation and daily routines.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in an EYFS, nursery or primary school setting.
• Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with young children.
• Has a good understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
• Is proactive, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
