Exclusive Education Ltd. is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support two EYFS pupils with sensory needs and emotional regulation challenges.

The role involves integrating into a calm, nurturing classroom, implementing strategies from SENDCo, and collaborating with teachers, parents and external agencies. The ideal candidate will have experience with SEND in EYFS/KS1, knowledge of sensory needs and emotional regulation, and demonstrate patience, strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, especially in EYFS or KS1.
  • Knowledge of sensory needs, autism, emotional regulation strategies, or nurture approaches.
  • Patient and able to build positive relationships with young children.
  • Respond sensitively to individual needs while maintaining boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about helping every child reach potential.
  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support two pupils within EYFS who have sensory needs and difficulties with emotional regulation.

The Role
  • Provide individualised support for two EYFS pupils with identified sensory and emotional regulation needs.
  • Assist pupils in accessing classroom activities and engaging with learning opportunities.
  • Implement strategies recommended by the SENDCo and external professionals.
  • Support emotional regulation through positive behaviour approaches and nurturing interventions.
  • Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage the development of communication, social and independence skills.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, parents and external agencies.
  • Observe, monitor and record pupil progress where required.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly within EYFS or Key Stage 1.
  • Has knowledge of sensory needs, autism, emotional regulation strategies or nurture-based approaches.
  • Is patient, calm and able to build positive relationships with young children.
  • Can respond sensitively to individual needs while maintaining clear boundaries.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
