Start Date: As soon as possible

St Mary’s Hare Park School is a vibrant, nurturing independent primary school seeking a passionate, committed and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Early Years team.

About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 qualified EYFS practitioner (or equivalent) to join our Early Years provision, supporting children aged 2 to 5 within a high-quality, full-year setting.

Are you driven to enable every child to thrive? Do you have a genuine passion for early childhood development and creating a nurturing, engaging environment for our youngest learners? If so, we would love to hear from you.

At St Mary’s Hare Park School, we are looking for a caring and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting children’s social, emotional and early academic development, and who understands the importance of routines, relationships and play-based learning in the early years.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Is highly motivated, positive and enthusiastic
  • Has high expectations for all children, including our youngest learners
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of early child development (ages 2–5)
  • Can create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment
  • Supports children’s independence, curiosity and love of learning
  • Is committed to raising standards and achieving excellence for all pupils
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Is organised, proactive and adaptable, particularly within a full-year provision
  • Has strong communication skills with colleagues, parents and pupils
  • Can demonstrate positive behaviour management appropriate to early years
We can offer:
  • A bespoke CPD programme to support you at every stage of your career
  • Opportunities to work within a supportive and collaborative team
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression
  • Polite, kind and well‑mannered children
  • Enthusiastic and inquisitive learners
  • A caring and committed staff team
  • A supportive and approachable senior leadership team
Visits to the School

We warmly welcome visits to the school. To arrange a visit or for an informal discussion about the role, please contact the school office. Visits are by appointment only.

St Mary’s Hare Park School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and all relevant pre‑employment checks in line with statutory guidance.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of background. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects our community and supports the needs of all our pupils.

Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.

It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self‑declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.

Equal Opportunities

Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities.
