Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is assisting a welcoming school in Hemel Hempstead to recruit an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.

You will support a small class of children with a range of additional needs, including ADHD and Autism, ensuring individualised support and positive relationships. The role is full-time and immediate start after half term, with temporary status and the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an Early Years setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism and ADHD.
• Patient, proactive, nurturing, and confident with challenging situations.
• Ability to build strong relationships with children and colleagues.
• Appreciates structure, routine and personalised learning support.
• Available to work full-time from 2nd November.

• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support for children with additional needs.
• Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and early learning.
• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate Early Years activities tailored to abilities.
• Apply positive behaviour management to promote engagement and independence.
• Adapt resources and activities for diverse pupil needs.
• Support routines, transitions and day-to-day running of the classroom.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure consistent support.

Experienced Early Years TA / LSA - Immediate Start After Half Term!

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: 95- 120 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Start Date: 2nd November
Contract: Temporary initially, with the potential to become permanent

Are you an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity? The Role

You will work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment where every child is supported to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support for children with additional needs, including ADHD and Autism.


• Support children's communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and early learning development.


• Help deliver engaging, age-appropriate Early Years activities tailored to individual abilities and learning needs.


• Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement, confidence and independence.


• Adapt resources and activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.


• Support routines, transitions and the overall day-to-day running of the classroom.


• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure consistent, effective support.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has proven experience working in an Early Years setting.


• Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and ADHD.


• Is patient, proactive, nurturing and confident in managing challenging situations.


• Can build strong relationships with children and colleagues.


• Understands the importance of structure, routine and personalised learning support.


• Is available to work full-time from 2nd November.

Please note: This role is not suitable for newly qualified or inexperienced candidates. Previous relevant experience is essential.
