Are you passionate about supporting early years education and have experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) children?

A primary school in Lincoln is seeking an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in their first steps of education.

About the Role

As an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS SEN TA) in Lincoln, you will play a vital role in supporting the early development of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities of an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS SEN TA)

  1. Support and Inspire: Assist in supporting individual and small group learning activities tailored to SEN children.
  2. Plan and Engage: Help in planning and delivering engaging learning activities tailored to young children with additional needs.
  3. Monitor and Adapt: Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  4. Collaborate for Success: Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to students’ development.
  5. Create a Welcoming Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where children feel valued and included.
  6. Innovate and Motivate: Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate young learners, catering to their diverse learning styles and needs.
  7. Track and Report: Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements for an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS SEN TA)

  1. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, specifically with SEN children.
  2. Understanding of the unique challenges and needs of young children in early years education.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  4. Ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  5. Deep commitment to helping young children by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  6. Relevant qualifications or training in early years education (desirable but not essential).

To work with us as an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS SEN TA), you will need:

  1. The right to work in the UK.
  2. An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  3. An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one.
