Teaching Personnel is excited to partner with a wonderful primary school in Fleetwood, who are seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated individual to support children in their early years who are not yet school-ready and need additional support to settle into school life.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in helping children with special educational needs and those who require additional support to transition smoothly into school. You’ll work closely with the class teacher, providing one-to-one and small group support to ensure that each child has the best start to their educational journey.
Support EYFS children who require additional help settling into school and the routines of learning
Work closely with children with SEN to provide tailored support both inside and outside the classroom
Help with behavioural management and emotional support for children who may be struggling with the transition to school life
Support the delivery of activities, both structured and play-based, to engage children and promote their development
Assist with the planning and implementation of individual learning plans (IEPs) and specific interventions
Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly in EYFS and/or with SEN
A patient, empathetic, and caring approach to working with young children
A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and the developmental needs of young children
Confidence in supporting children with additional learning or emotional needs
A proactive team player who is willing to adapt and work flexibly
A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, though not essential
A warm and supportive school community with a focus on inclusion and wellbeing
A collaborative working environment with strong leadership and supportive colleagues
