Job summary

Academics is seeking an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant for a Redbridge, London primary school. The role is full-time and long-term, starting October or November 2026, with a daily salary between £92 and £120. Hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will support children with additional needs 1:1 and in small groups, helping them access learning and develop communication and social skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally within an EYFS or primary school setting.
• Experience or confidence supporting children with SEN.
• Patient, nurturing and empathetic.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children with additional needs.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Support children with their daily routines and development within the EYFS setting.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Build strong and supportive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
• Assist with classroom activities
