Job summary

Academics is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant for EYFS to join a Redbridge primary school. The role runs from ASAP until July 2027, with a potential permanent position afterwards. You will support children with SEN during the Early Years, focusing on phonics, language and social development.

The school prioritizes strong literacy foundations and a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can flourish.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in SEN and/or EYFS setting is required; experience in Early Years and supporting children with additional needs is advantageous.
• You'll be patient, observant and enthusiastic, with the ability to respond to each child's needs and celebrate progress; strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children with SEN within the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping children develop communication, social skills and independence
• Supporting early phonics, language development and engagement with stories
• Adapting activities to meet each child’s learning and developmental needs
• Encouraging play-based learning, curiosity and positive interactions
• Supporting routines, transitions and emotional regulation
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
• Helping create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can flourish
