Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a caring and dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in the Watford area. You will support the Reception class teacher, provide one-to-one and small-group support, and help create a safe, engaging classroom environment where young children can develop confidence and essential early years skills.

This is a fantastic chance for an experienced TA or EYFS professional.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in school, nursery or EYFS desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of EYFS framework and Reception curriculum.
• Relevant TA/Childcare/EY qualification desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young children.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with engaging activities for Reception-aged children.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to aid academic, social and emotional development.
• Support children’s development within the EYFS framework.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, independence and social skills.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, teachers, parents and colleagues.
• Assist with observations and assessments of learning and development.
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
• Assist with daily routines and transitions, including mealtimes and personal care.
