Job summary

Supply Desk are seeking a passionate Early Years Teacher to join a friendly school team in Watford. This full-time role offers the chance to deliver high-quality EYFS teaching, support young learners and help children build confidence, independence, and learning habits from the start of their education.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS or an equivalent EYFS qualification, have strong classroom management and communication skills, and be committed to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant Early Years teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching within Early Years/Reception (Desirable).
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
• Create a safe, stimulating, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing across all areas of the EYFS.
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress to inform future planning.
• Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.
• Encourage children’s confidence, independence, communication, and social development.
• Support children with additional needs and adapt activities as required.
• Work with Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality learning experiences.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to learning journeys and assessments.
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times.

Supply Desk are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicatedEarly Years Teacherto join a friendly and supportive school team in Watford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years educator who is passionate about providing high-quality teaching and creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where young children can learn, develop, and thrive.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education, supporting children’s development, and helping every child build the confidence, skills, and independence they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activities in line with the EYFS framework
• Create a safe, stimulating, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
• Support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing across all areas of the EYFS
• Use a range of teaching approaches to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all children
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and use assessments to inform future planning
• Build strong and positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues
• Encourage children’s confidence, independence, communication, and social development
• Support children with additional needs and adapt learning activities where appropriate
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other staff to provide consistent support and high-quality learning experiences
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to children’s learning journeys and assessments
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times
• Contribute to the wider school community and maintain high standards of teaching, care, and professionalism

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant Early Years teaching qualification
• Previous experience teaching within an Early Years or Reception setting (Desirable)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
• A positive, caring, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude
• Ability to build strong and positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
