Job summary

St Luke’s CE (A) Primary in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton, is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant (minimum Level 3) to support learning across the year groups. The role involves assisting the class teacher, coordinating with year group staff to plan targeted support, and helping to implement teaching activities.

The post requires working with EYFS staff to establish a suitable learning environment and monitoring pupils’ progress through observation and recorded achievement.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Good level of English and Maths.
• Experience in classroom support and learning assistance.

Responsibilities

• providing support within the classroom, under the direction of the class teacher
• working with the other staff in the year group to establish appropriate learning support for identified children/groups
• implementing agreed teaching activities
• working with the EYFS staff to establish an appropriate learning environment
• monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses to learning activities through observational assessments and planned recording of achievement/progress against pre-determined learning objectives
• providing objective and accurate regular feedback on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems, etc.
