Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child in a primary setting in the FY8 area. The role focuses on enabling access to the curriculum, developing social interactions and building confidence within the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have EYFS experience, be patient and adaptable, and able to work with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement tailored strategies. Personal care support may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in EYFS or primary settings.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable in approach.
• Willingness to provide personal care when required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Support the child with learning, social, emotional, and communication needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
• Encourage engagement and participation in EYFS activities.
• Assist with personal care requirements in a dignified, respectful, and supportive manner.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship to promote the child's wellbeing and development.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to the wider school team.
