Job summary

RNIB Scotland is looking for an Eye Care Liaison Officer to provide practical information, emotional support and guidance to people with sight loss, their families and carers in hospital and community settings.

You will signpost and refer to services, advocate for patients, build partnerships with NHS eye care teams and other organisations, contribute to service evaluation, and undertake the Eye Clinic Support Studies course.

Qualifications

• Experience providing information, advice or person-centred support in health/social care.
• Ability to work across hospital and community settings with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred information and support to people affected by sight loss.
• Navigate the sight loss pathway, signpost and refer to appropriate services.
• Advocate for patients to access the right services.
• Develop referral routes with NHS eye care teams and third-sector partners.
• Contribute to service evaluation and raise awareness of the ECLO service.
