Job summary

Atkore is seeking an experienced Extrusion Setter Operator for its Unistrut business in West Bromwich. You will set up extrusion machines to produce plastic products, monitor quality, and perform routine maintenance to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires reading technical drawings, basic mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a rotating shift pattern. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the production process, adjusting as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the extrusion equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on the machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ensure scrap and non-conforming products are kept to a minimum and disposed of correctly.

Job description

Salary:

up to £35,753.64 per annum, inclusive of shift allowance

Hours of work:

Monday - Thursday

39 hours per week, working a 2-week rotating shift pattern

Week 1 & 2: Monday - Wednesday 6am - 6pm & Thursday 6am - 12pm

Week 3 & 4: Monday - Wednesday 6pm - 6am

What you’ll do:

• Set up and operate extrusion machines to produce Various plastic products according to specifications.

What you bring:

• Previous experience working on extrusion machines. Profile or conduit-tubes.
• Familiarity with logic controllers and tooling used in extrusion operations, training provided if need be.
• Ability to assemble.
• Mechanical knowledge to understand the operation of extrusion equipment.
• Able to work as part of a team and as an individual.
• To be able to read technical drawings.
• Ability to comply with and promote Atkore’s ATIRE and SQDC values
