Job summary

Elaine Primary School is seeking an Extended Schools Assistant to deliver wraparound care after school hours, including play, learning, sport and light snacks. You will work under the headteacher to provide a safe, welcoming environment for children and families, with training in safeguarding and food hygiene as part of the role.

The post involves 10 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, with shifts from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, and requires a commitment to safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in an educational or care setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding of children.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and food hygiene training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with promoting a high quality, child-centred learning and play service.
• Maintain a safe, caring environment outside school hours.
• Plan and provide age-appropriate activities and play opportunities.
• Assist with placing orders for resources and snacks within budget.
• Support health, safety and safeguarding procedures and training.
