Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Skilled Tradesperson (Mechanical) for the Maintenance Department to cover both reactive and planned mechanical work. The role is a 37.5-hour weekday day shift, with supervision on boiler plant limited to safe areas, and training available for macerator and drainage tasks.

Key duties include diagnosing faults, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance, and working across a range of mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Mechanical services background required.
• Experience working on a range of general building types.
• Strong fault-finding capabilities.
• Able to communicate services diplomatically to customers.

Responsabilités

• Carry out reactive repairs to plumbing, heating pipework and radiators.
• Repair and maintain macerator units and drainage systems (training provided).
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and fixtures.
• Undertake repair, alteration and new works on mechanical systems in the department.
• Maintain plumbing control equipment, valves, storage vessels, and thermostatic controls.
• Maintain drainage equipment of varied types and grades.
• Diagnose faults with limited information and propose solutions.
• Work on a wide range of mechanical systems with varying complexity.
• Supervise boiler plant, heat exchangers and BMS controls when required.
• Explain aims and services of the Maintenance Team to customers diplomatically.
• Provide regular feedback to the works supervisor.
• Leave patients, staff and visitors with a clean, safe, pleasant environment.
