Job summary

The University of Southampton’s Languages, Cultures and Linguistics department invites applications for a fixed-term 12-month research position supporting the ABDAVic project. The role focuses on experimental sociolinguistics, creating auditory stimuli, and analyzing results with R or Python.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing surveys, preferably using Qualtrics.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis with R or Python.
• Experience with phonetics tools (Praat, Audacity) is desirable.
• Contributions to conference abstracts and journal articles expected.

Responsibilities

• Support design and implementation of experiments, including creating auditory stimuli.
• Analyze data and disseminate results using appropriate statistical models.
• Contribute to conference abstracts, talks, and journal articles, with lead authorship on at least one piece.
