Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry skills with workshop or joinery experience.
• Proficient with hand tools (chisels, planes, saws, measuring tools).
• Experienced with power tools and woodworking machinery.
• Able to frame and structurally assemble timber components.
• Capable in finish carpentry including sanding and high-detail work.
• Detail-oriented, craftsman mindset, able to follow drawings/specifications.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices in workshop.
• Relevant joinery/carpentry qualification or equivalent experience.

Role Description

As an Experienced Workshop Joiner at Oak By Design, you will work full time on-site in our York workshop, producing high-quality oak components for orangeries, conservatories, porches, and interior joinery projects. Your day-to-day tasks will include measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing oak structures, ensuring all work meets design specifications and quality standards. You will operate and maintain workshop machinery and tools, interpret technical drawings, and collaborate with colleagues and, when needed, site teams to support smooth installation. The role also involves maintaining a safe and orderly workspace, checking materials for defects, and contributing to continuous improvement in workshop processes.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry skills, with proven experience in workshop or joinery environments.
